Productive Pig Feeds

Abila Gestation Pig Feeds:

Gestating sows need different amounts of feed at different stages of pregnancy. The amount of feed a sow needs is based on her energy requirements and the energy content of her diet. Abila gestation Feeds contain the right amount of amino acids, with lysine being the most limiting amino acid. Early gestation Sows typically receive 2 kg of feed per day during the first 28 days of pregnancy.Mid-gestation From days 29–84, sows need an additional 0.15–0.20 kg of feed per day to maintain their body weight and gain energy.Late gestation From days 85–115, sows need an additional 0.3–0.5 kg of feed per day to support fetal and mammary growth.

Abila Lactation Pig Feeds:

Lactating pigs need a diet that’s rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. The diet should also contain enough calcium, phosphorus, and other nutrients to support milk production and litter growth. Feeding sows correctly throughout lactation is essential for maintaining optimal reproductive performance .Feed lightly with bulky laxative feed immediately before and after farrowing. Bring the sow to full feeding in 10 days. Plenty of greens may be provided. Feed allowance may be calculated as 2.5-3 kg/100 kg body weight plus at the rate of 0.2 kg feed per piglet with the sow. Thus, a sow weighing 100 kg with 8 piglets should receive 4.6 kg feed per day. The piglets may be provided with special nourishing diet called creep feed separately.

Abila Boar Pig Feeds:

A well-balanced feed strategy is critical to the quantity and quality of boar semen – and the future of the herd.

Boars are the smallest and perhaps the most overlooked group in pig production. Yet their semen has a critical influence on the overall performance of the herd, including the size of the individual litter. Genetics, housing conditions, semen collection management, and, particularly, the feed rank are among the key factors that ensure semen volume and quality.

During the growing period, boars have similar nutrient needs to gilts, which means feeding can be ad libitum feeding from 30-60kg. Up to a weight of 105kg, feed should be limited to 2.9kg a day to prevent unwanted lean meat growth and to improve leg strength. From then on, daily feed should be regulated according to body condition. The optimal daily gain level is 750-800g from 30-140kg of weight.

A breeding boar requires 2-2.5 kg concentrate per 100 kg weight depending on the age, condition and breeding demand. Feed allowances should be so adjusted that the pig is neither fatty nor run down. Greens should be provided if kept indoors. Year-round pasture is excellent if it could be provided from the stand point of providing both the needed exercise and valuable nutrients.
